The Centro Magliaso is a family holiday resort located within a stunning natural landscape right on the shores of Lake Lugano. It is a place for meeting, well-being and inspiration, where everyone is welcome, regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender or religion. With a focus on sustainable activities and Christian values, the centre offers holidays, sports activities and educational pursuits at affordable prices.
Operated by a cooperative, the Centro Magliaso is the perfect venue for holidays, camps, and educational retreats for adults, youngsters, families, groups, and people with disabilities. Openness to new encounters, tolerance, and respect create a special atmosphere for guests and employees alike.
The Young Church founds the Centro Evangelico Magliaso [Magliaso Evangelical Centre], to run as an ecclesiastical camp.
The Centro Magliaso starts to welcome other groups and also individuals and families.
The Centro Magliaso is refurbished.
The Haus Boscaccio is made wheelchair-accessible.
The Centro Magliaso is bought by the Evangelical Reformed Church Parish of Zürich and is henceforth run by the Cooperative Evangelical Centre for Holidays and Education in Magliaso.
The red wooden Holzbau Paradiso building is constructed, featuring 19 new rooms.
The centre starts to use a lake water pump rather than fuel oil for its hot water and heating.
The Haus Boscaccio is converted into 12 large barrier-free double rooms with shower/WC and 2 single rooms with shower/WC.
The Platano main building is converted into 8 large king-size bedrooms and 2 single rooms with connecting doors on the first floor, and 6 family rooms, 4 double duplex rooms, and 1 twin room on the second floor.
The Saletta and Dining Room get a makeover
